Install Pendling on a Mac

Download, the one-time “Open Anyway”, the menu bar icon, and updates.

  1. Download the Mac disk image (.dmg) from the download page. It works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 13 or later.
  2. Open it and drag Pendling onto Applications.
  3. Open Pendling from Applications. It appears in the menu bar, and the charm drops in under its icon.
  4. Want it every day? Choose Launch at Login in its menu.

“Apple could not verify Pendling”

Apps from outside the App Store need Apple's notarization to open without a question. If your Mac asks:

  1. Click Done.
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down and click Open Anyway next to Pendling, then confirm.

You only do this once. Pendling collects nothing and needs no account; see privacy.

Updates

When there's a new version, the charm tells you, and Download Pendling … appears in its menu. It opens the download page; install it the same way, replacing the old copy. Your settings stay. What's new is always in What's new.

Uninstall

Quit Pendling from its menu and drag it from Applications to the Bin.
